My wealth of experience as a Dress-maker and Designer, combined with my life-long love of textiles led me to the art of felting - and the discovery that I could create my own fabrics. An ancient art which could lend itself readily to modern crafting and design. This was a magical breakthrough which opened up a whole new horizon of textures and colours.
For me, it was about these vivid hues and soft textures, and I could see the possibilities!
I started with Nuno felting - which is a process of laying wool over an existing natural fabric like silk, and 'wet felting' the wool through to create a new fabric. It is an innovative method of combining fabric and fibre to create felt with lightweight, drapeable characteristics.
